Friendship Day! Museum Open Free to All!

Experience history in real life as you visit with costumed interpreters and visiting Colonial Craftsmen in our small pioneer village. Visit the 18th-century crafters, then stop in the schoolhouse to join the class and visit the village blacksmith. Don't forget to look into Armstrong's cabin and stop by the Bee Hive Bake Oven before seeing the barn and workshop. At 2:30, in the Tavern, enjoy a performance by the Pittsburgh Shape Note Singers. This method of writing music was intended to enable those who could not read traditional musical notation to sing in church and social settings. Throughout the Museum grounds, you can visit the villagers and help with tasks as they carry on their daily activities. See you soon in the 18th Century! Beggar’s Day

Bring your children to the Museum on the Eve of Halloween for traditional old style "Begging"! Dress in your favorite costume from the past, present or future time! You will be treated to Halloween lore from past days and special activities around the village. Villagers will share their favorite Halloween tale as well as offering treats for the children. This final Sunday of the season is a day for all! See you Sunday! Children under 12 in costume receive FREE admission PLUS treats and special activities around the Village. Family Lantern Tours

Enjoy a tour of the Cemetery and Village of Talley Cavey entirely by Lantern light! * Recommended for adults and children age 7 and older * --- Tours take about 1 hour and continue regardless of weather --- You will be treated to Tall tales, superstitions and customs from the past. We promise you will meet colorful figures and learn a bit about life from the past. You might glimpse the Deacon, our resident, benevolent ghost, wandering the cemetery again tonight. You will complete the evening with refreshments in the cozy Deacon's Tavern. Tickets MUST be pre-purchased for your desired Tour Time online (see below) Admission (for members and non-members): $10/adult, $5/children under 12
